Mint seed suits growers who want several plants at once or a clean start free of market-stem pests. Be aware that mint is easier and faster from cuttings — seed takes patience.

  1. Mix the tiny seed with a little dry sand and sprinkle it on moist seedling mix.
  2. Press it in gently but do not cover it; keep the tray covered and in bright shade.
  3. Mist or water from below until seedlings appear, usually in 10–20 days.
  4. Move small clumps into their own wide pots and pinch the tips once plants reach 10–15 cm.

Tip: once you have one healthy plant, take cuttings from it — they root easily in a glass of water.
