Fruit Cucumber Seeds

A fast, rewarding vine for sunny balconies, rooftops and backyard trellises. The fruits are best picked small, when they are crisp and sweet.

1. Sow 2 seeds per hole, 1.5–2 cm deep, in a large pot or bed; keep the stronger seedling.
2. Put up a trellis or net about 1.5–2 m tall before the vines start to run.
3. Water deeply every morning and feed every 7–10 days once flowering starts.
4. Pick fruits at 12–18 cm; regular picking keeps new fruits coming.

Tip: in the rainy season water at the base only and remove yellowing lower leaves to reduce powdery and downy mildew.
