Celosia (bunga balung ayam) suits anyone with a hot, sunny spot where other flowers struggle. The plumes and crests stay colourful for weeks and dry well for arrangements.
- Sprinkle the tiny black seeds thinly on moist mix and cover with 2–3 mm of fine soil.
- Keep warm and moist; seedlings usually appear in 5–10 days.
- Transplant young, with the root ball intact, once seedlings have 2–3 pairs of true leaves.
- Grow in full sun, water at the base and feed every 2 weeks.
Tip: do not leave seedlings in small cells for too long — stressed seedlings often flower early on tiny plants.
