Step-by-step instructions for using the soil volume calculator for pots (Circular):
- Use a gauge to measure the diameter and height of your pot in millimeters (mm), centimeters (cm), or inches.
- In the “Pot Diameter” input field, enter the diameter of your pot in millimeters (mm), centimeters (cm), or inches. The pot diameter is the measurement across the widest part of the pot.
- In the “Pot Height” input field, enter the height of your pot in millimeters (mm), centimeters (cm), or inches. The pot height is the measurement from the bottom of the pot to the top of the rim.
- Use the fill percentage slider to select the percentage of the pot that you want to fill with soil. You can select values from 10% to 100% in increments of 10%. The fill percentage is the amount of the pot volume that will be filled with soil.
- Click the “Calculate” button to calculate the required soil volume for your pot.
- The calculated soil volume will be displayed on the webpage in liters and gallons. The result will show the pot diameter, pot height, fill percentage, and required soil volume in both units of measurement. The required soil volume is the amount of soil that you will need to fill your pot to the selected fill percentage.
- You can adjust the pot diameter, pot height, and fill percentage as needed and click the “Calculate” button again to recalculate the required soil volume.
- Once you know the required soil volume, you can use it to purchase the appropriate amount of soil for your pot. Remember to leave enough space at the top of the pot for watering and plant growth.
