This tool is based on acid-base neutralization:

  • Required equivalents (mmol) ≈ Δalkalinity (meq/L) × volume (L)
  • Volume (mL) = mmol / (solution normality N × 1000)
  • pH vs acid/base amount is non-linear; adjust stepwise
