What is DLI?
DLI (Daily Light Integral) is the total amount of Photosynthetically Active Radiation a plant receives each day. Different plants require different DLI:
- Low-light plants: 5–15 mol/m²/day (e.g., lettuce, spinach)
- Medium-light plants: 15–25 mol/m²/day (e.g., tomato, pepper)
- High-light plants: 25+ mol/m²/day (e.g., sunflower, corn)
About Malaysia
Malaysia is near the equator (1–7° N) with abundant sunlight year-round. Average sunlight is around 6–8 hours per day. Seasonal changes are minor, but the monsoon (Nov–Mar) may reduce sunlight.
